Chapter 1840

That’s why it’s no fun. (5)

ROTMHS Glossary || About page

The Blood Palace Lord’s eyes, visible through the bandages wrapping his face, narrowed. His gaze was fixed on the one running half a step ahead.

‘Jang Ilso.’

The one who stained his white robes dark crimson with blood.

Just what could be going on inside that man’s head? What thoughts occupied him, enabling him to commit such absurd acts so calmly – and even succeed?

“Ryeonju.”

At the Blood Palace Lord’s call, Jang Ilso slowly turned around.

The moment their eyes met, an icy chill coursed down the Blood Palace Lord’s back. Fear wrapped around his entire body. This was different from the fear he felt when facing ‘him.’ It wasn’t the terror brought on by overwhelming power, but a primal fear that arises when confronted with the unknown.

Before he even realized it, the Blood Palace Lord lowered his head.

Jang Ilso stared intently at him for a moment, then turned away again. Then he looked down at the small dagger in his hand.

Though it wasn’t completely worthless, ‘crude’ would be the right word for it. He slowly scraped the blood off the blade with his fingernail.

‘
Tang Gunak.’

Jang Ilso’s gaze sank into darkness.

❀ ❀ ❀

Crack!

Tang Gunak blankly stared at the dagger lodged in his chest. The corners of Jang Ilso’s lips twisted into a smirk.

“A gift. Do you like it?”

Though Jang Ilso asked, Tang Gunak simply kept his gaze fixed on the dagger, offering no reply. Jang Ilso let out a laugh that was almost a sneer.

“An eccentric old man handed it to me the day the Tang Clan fell. Should I call it a keepsake? Quite amusing, isn’t it?”

Tang Gunak’s shoulders trembled slightly.

“Did that old man ever imagine that his keepsake would pierce your chest? Did he ever think the last thing he left behind would be used like this? Even knowing that, would he have given me this pathetic dagger?”

“
”

“Whatever he hoped for, I doubt this was what he intended
 right? Hahaha.”

Jang Ilso slowly ran his hand down his face with a bizarre expression that suggested both delight and disgust.

“This is why I despise these kinds of silly notions. Talk of fate, sincerity, or the Tao – those meaningless words people spout so carelessly crumble this easily before the slightest whim of a single person.”

That old man must have wanted Jang Ilso to feel something through that dagger. But Jang Ilso answered by plunging it into Tang Gunak’s chest.

What would that old man think now? Would he regret it, or would he weep?

He was dead and gone anyway, but just imagining the look on his face if he saw this scene made Jang Ilso unable to hold back his laughter.

“Still, you should be grateful. At least you get to die by the weapon of the Tang Clan you were so proud of. Think of it as my final gesture of kindness.”

Jang Ilso smiled in the gentlest, almost affectionate way.

“After all, we’re at least that close, aren’t we? Hmm?”

Twitch.

Right then, Tang Gunak’s hand, which had been motionless until now, slowly moved and grabbed the dagger lodged in his chest.

Jang Ilso’s smile vanished, and his eyes narrowed coldly as he watched.

“Poison King?”

Puuk.

Tang Gunak pulled out the dagger. The tightly coiled by internal energy muscles instantly loosened, leaving a small hole gaping in his chest. Blood gushed freely from the dark wound.

“Tsk.”

Jang Ilso clicked his tongue. Tang Gunak must have known that removing the dagger would only hasten his death – did he want to die that soon?

Was it out of wounded pride? Or did he want to maintain his dignity even in death? Either way, wasn’t it pitiful?

But what Tang Gunak did next was not what Jang Ilso had expected.

Tang Gunak showed no interest in the fatal wound on his chest, instead staring fixedly at the dagger he gripped. He looked awestruck, almost entranced – as though the crude dagger was some ancient treasure.

“
Here
”

“Hmm?”

A strange gleam appeared in Jang Ilso’s eyes.

“So it was here. Right here
”

Tang Gunak looked at the dagger, smiling softly.

For what was supposedly the final masterpiece left behind by his great-uncle – who had reached the pinnacle of craftsmanship – it was extremely shabby. And maybe because of that, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from it.

“Right, so it’s no wonder I couldn’t find it
.”

Tang Gunak chuckled, his shoulders shaking. It was a laugh tinged with emptiness.

“
”

Yet to Jang Ilso, it somehow looked as though Tang Gunak was relieved. It might have been a ridiculous thought, but still.

Then, Tang Gunak hurled the dagger he was holding at Jang Ilso.

Tap.

Jang Ilso, who had instinctively raised his guard, casually caught the weakly thrown dagger with his hand. There was no trace of internal energy in it. The lack of power only made its intent all the more inscrutable.

“Take it.”

Tang Gunak’s calm voice reached Jang Ilso’s ears.

“Because it’s yours.”

Jang Ilso stared intently at Tang Gunak, dagger still in hand.

Tang Gunak’s face was deathly pale. Even without anyone laying another finger on him, he had only one path left – death.

Which made it all the more strange.

This was Tang Gunak, of all people. He couldn’t possibly fail to grasp the meaning of his own defeat and Jang Ilso’s presence here. So how could he remain this calm?

“Hmm.”

Oddly enough, it irritated him. Even Jang Ilso’s usual mocking tone now carried a subtle note of displeasure.

“Well, well. Have you lost your mind?”

“
”

“Not that I hate a little bravado. If you’re going to die anyway, better to keep your head high than fall pathetically. But
if you overdo it, it becomes rather ugly.”

It was a blatant mockery with not a hint of subtlety. Yet Tang Gunak paid it no mind. He simply continued to watch Jang Ilso with an inscrutable gaze.

“What do you see?”

“What?”

“In that dagger – what do you see?”

Jang Ilso lowered his gaze slightly.

No matter how many times he looked at this dagger, it was just crude and misshapen. For all its rough appearance, its hardness and sharpness were strangely impressive, but that was all. There was nothing else particularly remarkable or noteworthy about it.

He’d merely carried it around with the malicious intent of one day lodging it in Tang Gunak’s chest. For Jang Ilso, it was never an object that held any special meaning.

So what exactly was there to see in this toy-like thing?

“My great-uncle
he was an artisan. But he
he never studied any martial arts.”

“
”

“In other words, he spent his entire life making things meant only for others.”

Jang Ilso’s eyes flickered with confusion. He couldn’t fathom why Tang Gunak was suddenly spouting such vague nonsense.

“That dagger carries a message for me. And for you as well. I’ve heard his words clearly. What do you hear?”

“Stop spouting nonsense…”

“You don’t know.”

Tang Gunak cut off Jang Ilso mid-sentence.

“If you don’t know, you will be defeated, Paegun.”

Jang Ilso’s expression grew rigid.

It was hard to dismiss it as mere curses of a dying man – there was a force and certainty in Tang Gunak’s voice that surpassed his own.

Having said all he intended, Tang Gunak calmly faced Jang Ilso. The moment Jang Ilso saw that expression, he felt a surge of inexplicable displeasure.

“Hmm.”

Jang Ilso let out a soft nasal sound and smiled faintly.

“So that’s it?”

Then, for an instant, his face twisted like a demon’s.

Paaang!

A burst of energy slammed into Tang Gunak. He couldn’t even scream – he was sent flying, spraying blood.

“So the bastard who’s about to die just won’t shut up.”

With a derisive snort, Jang Ilso turned away without hesitation. Even then, for reasons he couldn’t quite explain, a bitter taste lingered in his mouth.

He forced himself to look straight ahead instead of glancing back, taking one step after another – clutching the dagger tightly in his hand.

❀ ❀ ❀

Scrape.

Jang Ilso’s fingernail scraped down the rough dagger.

‘How ridiculous.’

What could anyone possibly see in a dagger like this? It was nothing more or less than the nonsense of a dying man.

Jang Ilso intended to throw the dagger away without a second thought. But in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Biting the inside of his cheek so no one could see, he irritably shoved the dagger back into his robes. It settled into place with a heaviness so prominent it was hard to ignore.

“Ryeonju.”

Just then, the Blood Palace Lord’s voice rang out again. Jang Ilso, pushing down an instinctive surge of murderous intent, curled his lips into a smile.

“Speak.”

“What are you planning to do?”

“Hmm?”

“I know what you were aiming for, and just pulling it off is impressive. But you do realize, don’t you? With this force alone, it’s impossible to bring them all down.”

“
”

“At best, it’s maybe a half. Isn’t that so? With only that much, you can’t turn the tide.”

Even the Blood Palace Lord had to admit that Jang Ilso’s latest move was undeniably brilliant.

But that alone couldn’t completely reverse the situation. Attempting further action was already too costly in terms of losses on their side. No matter how impressive, wasn’t it ultimately a wasted effort?

Jang Ilso asked softly in return.

“Is that what you think?”

“Is it not?”

“You’re right.”

When Jang Ilso agreed, the Blood Palace Lord’s face hardened. Then what on earth
?

Just then, Jang Ilso’s eyes curved like a waning moon.

“But why should I be the one concerned about that?”

Jang Ilso came to a stop, and naturally, so did the Blood Palace Lord.

“What do you mean?”

“Exactly what I said. Why should I be the one to worry about that?”

“No, that’s ridiculous
”

Crack!

All of a sudden, Jang Ilso’s hand shot out like a venomous snake and seized the Blood Palace Lord by the throat.

“Ghk!”

The pressure was so fierce it looked as if his neck might snap at any moment. With eyes bulging and teeth clenched tightly, the Blood Palace Lord’s body was slowly lifted off the ground.

“Grrk
 urgh
”

“In my opinion, there’s someone else who should be worrying about that. Don’t you agree?”

It happened so swiftly and unexpectedly that it was beyond one’s imagination.

The Blood Palace Lord’s entire body trembled. Yet it wasn’t because he was in pain.

“Rye
 Ryeon
ju
 why
”

“Why?”

A strange gleam flared in Jang Ilso’s eyes. A deep terror settled over the Blood Palace Lord’s face.

‘Th-This madman
!’

If Jang Ilso wished it, his neck would be broken in a heartbeat.

And given the man before him, it wouldn’t be surprising in the least if he twisted his neck this instant.

“You know, don’t you? Hmm?”

“Guh
”

“You know why I’m doing this.”

The Blood Palace Lord’s pupils shook as if in an earthquake. Jang Ilso smiled, his voice cold.

“I don’t even hate rats scurrying for their lives. There’s a certain fun in watching them struggle to survive. But if that rat dares to hold its head up too high, that changes everything. A rat should behave like a rat, shouldn’t it?”

A chill ran down the Blood Palace Lord’s spine.

He knew. Jang Ilso knew that he had betrayed him.

But then – why now?

The Blood Palace Lord had anticipated that Jang Ilso might be aware of his betrayal. Still, wasn’t it beyond reason to eliminate him here and now?

“How about it? If I snap your neck right now, it feels like there’d be a way forward.”

“W-What
?”

“No. I’m sure of it.”

Jang Ilso smiled brightly.

“That’s exactly how it’ll be. I guarantee it.”

“Khrrk
!”

Jang Ilso tightened his grip on the Blood Palace Lord’s neck. Not merely poised to break it – he looked ready to tear his head clean off. The Blood Palace Lord’s spine cracked in protest.

“So just die quietly. It’s a cheap price for betrayal, wouldn’t you say?”

The Blood Palace Lord’s mind grew hazy at the sight of those ominously glittering eyes.

What else could one call that but madness? That rolling wave of insanity threatened to devour him at any moment, enveloping everything in sight.

Unable to withstand the pressure, his tongue lolled out limply, and blood-tinged saliva began dripping from his lips.

Just as Jang Ilso prepared to deliver the finishing squeeze.

“Interesting.”

A deep, unfamiliar voice cut in.

Jang Ilso swiftly turned his eerily shining gaze around. At some point, someone he had encountered in the past had drawn near.

“Could it be
that the ‘someone else who should be worrying about that’ you mentioned refers to me?”

Jang Ilso licked his lips slowly, narrowing his eyes.

“Hmm, so you couldn’t stay hidden like a rat to the very end, could you?”

“
”

“Well, let me at least say it’s nice to see you again. We’ve met before, after all.”

Heavenly Executioner smirked with a murderous gleam in his eyes as he stared at Jang Ilso.

huuuuuuu i have no idea what cheonsal wants now. he probably wanted cheonumaeng to fall and also chung myung being killed. will he really stoop so low as to negotiate with ilso, who is just a filthy unbeliver to him..

i locked in hard today cause it was so interesting.

Do you think jang ilso being jang ilso would negotiate with heavenly executioner. I guess it depends on the terms of the negotiations.

just imagine that if jang ilso makes a deal that if demon cult kills CM then they eould give jalng ilso 5 years of time 😛

i still want to believe that biga maintains AT LEAST SOME shreds of the power balance that was established previously. AN ANCIENT BISHOP must be at least several times stronger than jang ilso. jang ilso was fighting beop jong and wasn’t overwhelming him drastically. we know that in the previous war even chung myung had troubles with bishops.
just on what grounds ilso can be allowed to decline negotiations with cheonsal?..

Exactly! So does this mean that both JIS and cheonsal think Cheonumaeng is strong enough to win against them?? (separately) Is that what they are implying here?? Is this CM’s chance?? I can’t see JIS or cheonsal wanting to forge an alliance, they’re both way too prideful to accept something like that… So what’s the plan??

I was so not expecting cheonsal to show up in this chapter (â â˜‰â ïœĄâ â˜‰â )!

I knowww! Like, what negotiation can even exist between them?? Would JIS bow his head to cheonsal?? Naaah…

I thought for sure that JIS was going kamikaze with this invasion because he thought everyone would die at the hand of Magyo when he showed up but now… Apparently… There was this option?? Magyo NEEDING to get rid of Cheonumaeng rn? (at least that’s what I think they implied here by saying “that’s someone else who should be worrying about that [finishing off Cheonumaeng]”)

        My mind is racing 😅

Jang Ilso’s not the type to bow down to someone like Cheonsal, but it’s pretty dubious how things will play out. If he partners with Cheonsal, he’s going complete self destruction, leaving no pride of his own behind. If he fights, he loses no diff. If he partners, then betrays as he so often does, this may be what the Dalai Lama was talking about not killing Jang Ilso. He never mentioned keeping him alive, just that Chung Myung shouldn’t kill him, so maybe those words are, to some extent saying that CM should, at the very least, use JI as an asset to kill Cheonsal.

There’s a chance that either JI and Cheonsal die together at the end of this arc, then time skip for the central plains to gather strength, or Biga pulls the biggest ass pull possible, and Sapaeryeon and Cheonumaeng collaborate to decimate the demonic cult permanently.

Either way, it finally seems like all the chess pieces are on the board, although Diancang has sort of disappeared for now, and there’s a chance for intervention in case somehow Cheonsal managed to rally forces from the demonic cult, or some random third party we never learned about (highly unlikely)

I fucking knew it! His sudden presence near the start of this final battle was too big of a smoking gun to ignore, Biga doesn’t introduce a character to not use them during the arc. That being said, this is fucking scary to see Cheonsal active this recently

Also, Gunak’s final words about the dagger is interesting. I’m not enough of an intellectual to understand him there, but it seems Jang Ilso’s in deep shit

the thing is jang ilso has no pride when it comes to survival that is the core of his character, so i really wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to join hands with cheonsal as long as it ensures cheongmyeong’s downfall.

the problem here is cheonsal’s possible positive response to this offer since he 1) is a member of magyo who loathes every filthy non-believer on earth 2) does not need a collaboration at all for he is strong enough to destroy both cwm and sapaeryon.

so this was a weird encounter i must say… but who knows, maybe he just wants to see them kill each other like some disgusting animals or he detests cheongmyeong to the point that he would attempt to hold hands with a non-believer like jang ilso.

I really feel that this has to do with the bishop vomiting blood, Cheongmyeong vomiting blood, and the blood palace guy finding Cheongmyeong’s aura contradictory to righteous sect ideals. Bishop ran HERE for a reason, seemingly by himself?

Perhaps the warning CM received about suffering has to do with this as opposed to the expected losses in war. We have yet to receive an explanation for why his body is suffering. Did it start when he used pure Qi? If it did, in combination to cultists finding him strange, there may be a lot going on.

I know Biga is unaware of these comments but I wish people were a little bit nicer and less “Wtf is the author even doing”. The power imbalances seem like a push and pull, this chapter also states that Jang Ilso hasn’t suddenly turned any tides. He just got one over on CM because he went after the injured and split up their ranks.

“Then he looked down at the small dagger in his hand.”
Oh my fucking god please tell me he didn’t use A-Pyung’s dagger to kill Gunak. Please. I beg.

“Though it wasn’t completely worthless, ‘crude’ would be the right word for it. He slowly scraped the blood off the blade with his fingernail.”
It is. It is. Someone please help me kill that clown. I am still begging.

OMG why is every next paragraphs just confirming it more!? We already got it please stop- But then again, this weapon couldn’t just be forgotten, it is somehow fitting that it would continue… continue what exactly I’m not sure, but tha tbeing covered in Gunak’s blood probably has meaning, a different kind than the one JI is trying to give it.

“Right then, Tang Gunak’s hand, which had been motionless until now, slowly moved and grabbed the dagger lodged in his chest.”
… Is he going to give it back to JI? Is it why JI still had it? TBH it probably be the biggest fuck you that could be given to him, even if I don’t think Gunak would care to mean it that way.

“Tang Gunak showed no interest in the fatal wound on his chest, instead staring fixedly at the dagger he gripped. He looked awestruck, almost entranced – as though the crude dagger was some ancient treasure.”
Or maybe Gunak feels like it was a gift to him from A-Pyung? Ilso just did the delivery work. His customer service leaves to be desired, but whatever. Anyway not Gunak looking cute which he is dying, how is this guy doing it, it’s an innate talent at this point.

“Then, Tang Gunak hurled the dagger he was holding at Jang Ilso.”
So he is giving it back to JI. One more delivery works to JI? Who is he supposed to give it to next? One of Gunak’s children? Cheongmyeong? At least I hope this time his customer service will be better, you’re not supposed to leave a hole in the chest of your client.

    “Because it’s yours.”
So, it doesn’t look like it’s delivery work. Probably a good thing, I don’t think Ilso was built for customer service.

“Oddly enough, it irritated him. Even Jang Ilso’s usual mocking tone now carried a subtle note of displeasure.”
At least I wasn’t wrong about JI taking this action as a big fuck you, no matter how it’s actually meant.

“No matter how many times he looked at this dagger, it was just crude and misshapen. For all its rough appearance, its hardness and sharpness were strangely impressive, but that was all. There was nothing else particularly remarkable or noteworthy about it.”
Maybe it’s supposed to be a reference to a person? Just me trying to guess.

“That dagger carries a message for me. And for you as well. I’ve heard his words clearly. What do you hear?”
I can’t say I have heard his words either, but they seem like very cool words, I would love to know what they are. Although, I guess if there was a message for Gunak, then JI actually did delivery work. Wow, customer service JI, I never thought I would see the day. I wonder if JI will ever be able to hear the worlds mean for him, or if he will die without knowing.

“What are you planning to do?”
    Is he even planning anything?

“But why should I be the one concerned about that?”
I think he might not be planning anything.

“Heavenly Executioner smirked with a murderous gleam in his eyes as he stared at Jang Ilso.”
Well that’s getting interesting. And so it’s the perfect place for a cliffhanger. Amazing job from Biga, as always💖💖💖

Wait. Wait wait WAIT! JI knows Cheonma is back. If the Heavenly Executioned knows Cheonma is back he won’t have a reason not to just kill everyone on his path, especially CM and Hwasan as he has a grudge. Of course he won’t just take JI’s word for it, and JI has to truly give up on life to try something like that like I doubt he would be spared, maybe he could be temporarily but even that I doubt. Although I also do doubt his intent to live on, so… But does he have a way to prove it? Would he be fine with the destruction being done by the Heavenly Executioner and not himself or his own army as long as he is the one that made him start act like that? Anyway the Heavenly Executioner is a ticking time nuclear bomb, and JI is one of the only people to know the code to deactivate the timer option and make it goes on instant explostion mode.

The author really enjoys chaos. If the heavenly executioner is here does it mean they have found the heavenly demon? Does it mean that they have become aware of his presence? Does it mean that he is acting on his own again? Heat is the author planning to do with so many moving pieces?

in my mind, ever since they rescued that woman and her baby (remember them? the woman who ended up being cheonumaeng’s cook) I was sure that the baby was the hd… especially after seeing how Baek Ah reacted to that baby… but then that massacre happened and got me confused about who the hd really was… and now this chapter is making me more confused đŸ˜¶

What is a celestial executioner? Ahhhh, I’m scared, ladies and gentlemen! I’m so scared that I can’t even eat. What will happen now?

Actually, it’s better if I stop thinking about possible future scenarios and start singing Ozuna and Maluma songs—they say it helps with fear.

Ellie, if I don’t show up in the next comment, I had a heart attack. If that happens, tell Biga that I’ll haunt them if they keep making Chung Myung suffer. Bye-bye!

if u find anything confusing put the term to search in my glossary!

Heavenly Execution Demon Emperor [ìČœì‚Žë§ˆì œ(怩æźș魔澝) – cheonsalmaje] – or Heavenly Executioner. Bishop alive since the previous Great Demonic War.

we met him at hangzhou disaster after he came to finish off the young bishop who caused the massacre. he is the one who made blood palace obey him and run his errands aka betraying jang ilso.

he is not the strongest bishop alive rn, since there is also an archbishop who is alive, but he is also extremely strong.

AHAHAHA pls don’t have a heart attack and enjoy (or suffer) while continuing reading the novel with me ㅠㅠ

Yeah this is quite the twist, but moreso because its not aligned with how the demonic cult was characterised before, where they disdained interacting with non believers unless it was to attack them. Will see what develops in further chapters, but if its really heavenly executioner proactively reaching out to jang ilso, the shark will really have been jumped in this story. As others have said – there should be no motivation for demonic cult to ally with sapa. Alternatively, if they were still looking for heavenly demon and wanted jang ilso to stop getting everyone killed (remember this all started when Chung Myung was reincarnated into a Beggar sect disciple’s body, so heavenly demon could be in any righteous/outer/sapa sect, or civilian), they should have intervened way earlier. Really hoping the author has a good reason for this appearance, and not just throwing it in for shock purposes.

If heavenly demon had already been found, according to what was previously established, the demonic cult should have already started attacking everyone to purge all nonbelievers.

I’ve been comforting myself by imagining Tang Gunak’s face when Tang Bo fills him in on who CM really is up in heaven

Biga what the hell are you doing 😭

After reading this and the last chapter I really don’t know where this story is heading…
I have my speculation, I remember that when CM was about to ascend he felt an ominous feeling/something bad or sticky. And when Dhali Lama spoke to him in chapter 1757(i think) CM didn’t understand much/couldn’t make sense of it,and came to the conclusion that humans don’t understand beings that are above human(Lama and Cheon Ma).Its as if humans talked to ants, the ant wouldn’t understand the human and the other way around.

The same with Cheon Ma, he didn’t feel bad when he killed everyone(as far as we know) and MAYBE felt a little disappointed that he didn’t become ”worthy” of the name Heavenly Demon. I mean do we feel bad if we step on ants? Ofc not. It was also said somewhere that most people weren’t even mad at Cheon Ma himself more at the situation. Would an ant be mad at something that they don’t understand and looks like a god for stepping on their friend,I don’t think so at least I wouldn’t

CM was one of the only people that hated him specifically. But when faced with a choice of who he hated more, Jang Ilso or Cheon Ma, he picked Jang Ilso. Bc he’s human and still does the same things as Heavenly Demon did, just bc he’s greedy and wants the world at his feet.

The despair and the desire for everyone to survive would drive CM to do some crazy things like…

I think that the only way that CM could save his kids and the others is by ascending. He almost did ascend that one time
If he overcomes his heart demons he would have a breakthrough(maybe even ascend)But if he wants to overcome them he needs to let go of the regrets that he has in this and his previous life.Which I think would be VERY difficult almost impossible, no human being could do that. But if he did, with his understanding of martial arts he would be insanely strong, maybe even stronger than the Heavenly Demon. BUT he would need to give up his humanity, feeling’s and the last shred of basic emotions that are making him a human being. Let’s be honest he would sacrifice himself for others (he already did). And do everything to save even one more person.

Anyway these are just my speculations đŸ©·

Thank you soooo much for the chapterđŸ™‡â€â™€ïž I love reading them(even tho I cry almost every time)

he saw the circle of nothingness and smth beyond it, which he needs to understand to move forward.

      you’re welcome! ❀

Ugh. This arc was a mess and I’m disappointed in the author. Biga doesn’t seem to know how to go about the story anymore.

It is all such a mess of contradictions:

    >Spends weeks going on and on about how the alliance is still weak and disorganised. Then kills off Tang Gunak and Zhuge Jain, the key people holding the alliance together.

    >Spends dozens of chapters showing that Jang Ilso is off, bc he was spooked by the demon cult, is making rash decisions. Turns out he still had a giga brain master plan

    >Stresses that martial artists are declining, worrying about demon cult. Has a huge massacre every arc.

I’m also very disappointed and frustrated in writing of Jang Ilso. Steep Decline. He was an awesome character before, but now he feels like a cartoon villain. Before, Jang Ilso’s cruelty ALWAYS had a point. He was never cruel when it wasn’t necessary Now bro is a sadistic jerk power tripping on causing others misery.

Biga seems to be trying to get more votes by having a big event or twist happen every other chapter, exaggerating things to ridiculuous extents man.

Phew, sorry for the vent, but frustration has been building since this war arc.

Hmmm, the heavenly executioner seems to mess around here and there. My owner wants him, what he aspires to, he seems very clever and cunning compared to other foolish bishops.
