Chapter 1906

There’s something I’d like to ask. (6)

ROTMHS Glossary || About page

Chung Myung was still fuming. Baek Cheon’s expression, watching this, looked as if he was half out of his wits.

“Too much has happened. I’m so tired…”

“How is it that calming that bastard down is harder than fighting Sapaeryeon.”

“He still doesn’t seem fully calm.”

Just then, Yu Iseol, who had been watching Chung Myung, suddenly nodded and muttered.

“He’s gotten kinder. As expected.”

“Huh?”

“What?”

“What did you say?”

“Sago?”

The Five Swords flinched and turned to her, but Yu Iseol answered without a single change in her expression (though it rarely changes to begin with).

“Because everyone is still standing on their own two feet.”

A peculiar silence settled. The Five Swords muttered in a somewhat weary tone.

“Well, if this were the old days……”

“Right. No one would be left standing on two feet.”

“So we’re supposed to admit that counts as becoming kinder?”

“That doesn’t seem right… It shouldn’t be, anyway.”

All of them fell into deep contemplation. Is perfectly black water, and black water with some translucency to it, truly different? Or should they both be regarded as the same black waters?

What is the Tao, and what is cognition?

From where does humanity come, and where does it go…?

“Get a grip, Geol-ah!”

“Ah. Ahh! I-I almost ascended.”

If you had ascended over something like this, you would be the laughingstock for at least a thousand years even in the Immortal Realm.

In any case, after many twists, turns, and bouts of anguish, they somehow succeeded in calming Chung Myung down.

“My money… my power… my territory… my Henan…”

To be honest, it was a bit of a stretch to call him calm. Still, wasn’t it something that he at least wasn’t rampaging in a frenzy?

“Ahem. Is it all sorted out?”

Only then did Hyun Jong quietly stick his face in. The moment he did, as if on cue, everyone glared at him with wide open eyes, so wide the whites were practically glowing, and Hyun Jong quickly averted his gaze.

“Isn’t it about time I stopped seeing such harsh things, too?”

“…That’s true, but still.”

“Even my joints ache too much these days.”

You seem to have changed a bit, Retired Sect Leader?

“You sound full of complaints.”

Just then, Maeng So, who was coming this way, spotted Chung Myung with cheeks puffed up to five times their usual size and burst into hearty laughter. Baek Cheon flinched when Maeng So tapped his shoulder with a hand as large as a pot lid, still laughing.

“Haha, in the southern lands there’s a spirit beast called an Azure Squirrel [청율서(靑栗鼠) – cheong-yulseo].”

“Azure Squirrel? An actual squirrel?”

“That’s right. An Azure Squirrel. It’s not on par with White Crane, but it’s still far more intelligent and nimble than any human, and quite famous in the southern region. But… even a spirit beast is still a beast, and it has some amusing habits.”

“What kind of habits?”

“It can’t give up its acorns.”

The Five Swords’ gazes all turned to one side at once.

“It’s indescribably clever and exceptionally quick, so you can’t catch it with traps, and it easily slips from the hands of most martial artists. It’s no easy thing to catch. But there’s one way to catch this squirrel easily, and that’s to find its nest around autumn.”

“…No way.”

“Yes. In truth, with an Azure Squirrel’s ability, it could always gather acorns again whenever it wants, but once this beast has piled them up it simply cannot bring itself to discard them. So even when it sees people coming in plain sight, it fidgets and wavers and, in the end, gets caught.”

“Ah…….”

“It’s not that it doesn’t know it would be far better to throw away the acorns and run. It knows, but it can’t help it. That’s its nature. Hahah. Isn’t that how things are?”

Huh? Are you saying what Chung Myung is doing is at a squirrel’s level, Palace Lord?

“So, this means…”

“Huh?”

“…That an Azure Squirrel whose nest hasn’t been filled to the brim with acorns cannot be caught. With nothing to lose, it pulls out without hesitation.”

“…”

“So the seasoned Azure Squirrels do not hoard acorns excessively. Even if they gather them, they make multiple nests and distribute the acorns – so their enemies won’t find them easily, and even if they do, they’ll always have a way to escape.”

Maeng So looked at Hyun Jong with a somewhat complicated expression. Hyun Jong, with a discreet ‘ahem,’ coughed and subtly avoided Maeng So’s gaze.

“Beasts have only acorns to give up, so it’s not a hard decision for them, but for people it won’t be that easy.”

“My money… my moneeeeeey. Jongnam has swallowed that money… Jongnam gulped it down? Should I just set fire to Mount Jongnam? I burn, you burn – fair and square…”

Oh dear. Chung Myung is turning into Jang Ilso, Jang Ilso.

Making a gesture with his chin towards Chung Myung – who was muttering like a madman and clawing at the ground – Maeng So added.

“As you can see.”

“…”

“In that sense, Baek Cheon, you’re a remarkable man.”

Suddenly, Maeng So fixed Baek Cheon with a meaningful gaze.

In truth, for Hyun Jong this choice may not have been that difficult. The honor and glory Hwasan will gain from now on won’t be his. Likewise, from Un Am’s position, it may not be so hard either, since he, too, is merely waiting for the moment to step back at any time.

But Baek Cheon was different.

He was, quite literally, the one who could directly take the fruits of labor Hwasan has gained from this war. For someone like that, to set everything down was no easy thing.

A contented smile spread over Maeng So’s face as he looked at Baek Cheon. But Baek Cheon only tilted his head, looking puzzled.

“What do you mean?”

“….Hm?”

“I just want to go home.”

“…”

“Hubei, Henan – just the sight of them makes me sick now.”

“Ah, I want to go to Shaanxi.”

“If I could just have one meal at the Hwaeum Inn, I’d have no more wishes. The food here is too greasy.”

“Keeping my feet planted on such low ground has made my body heavy. A person ought to live breathing clear mountain air.”

“And eat meat.”

“….I’d love to catch a deer and roast it, but here I feel like I’m being watched. It’s not like Taoists are forbidden to eat meat.”

“…Aren’t they, though?”

“…..Seriously?”

Maeng So, who had been standing there blankly, slowly looked up at the sky.

Right, come to think of it, all of them are Hwasan Geomhyeop’s Sahyeongs. No matter how different people are by nature, if they live together long enough, they quietly grow alike.

‘…Well, as long as the outcome is good, it’s fine.’

When the outcome turns out even better than what one intended, that in itself can be frightening. Let’s just think of it that way.

Thus Baek Cheon and Hwasan’s party exchanged a few vague words with Maeng So, then went on to comfort the weeping Seol Sobaek. And even with Jongli Gok, who quietly slipped out of the tent, they also shared some meaningful glances.

And yet, even after that, Hwasan still couldn’t set out. The reason was simple.

“Hwasaaaaan Shinryooooooooong!”

“……Ugh.”

“Hey! What is this?! Who do you think I came all the way out here for, and now you’re saying you’re going where?”

Chung Myung groaned and clutched his head as if in pain.

“No! No! The Retired Sect Leader has gone off too – if you leave as well, who am I supposed to rely on and get the work done?! You can’t go!”

Hong Daekwang was clinging desperately to Chung Myung’s pant leg.

“Come on, you are the Sect Leader of the Beggars Sect, have you no dignity!”

“What dignity does a beggar have!”

“Huh?”

Chung Myung nodded as if something had dawned on him. Well, that was true, after all. Since when did this fellow start saying something that made sense?

“Take me with you, me too! There’s no one here but vicious people.”

“Well then, who told you to be the Sect Leader?”

“You’re the one who made me, you punk!”

But Hong Daekwang wasn’t the only one who rushed over.

“…Are you leaving?”

A deep regret shadowed Tang Pae’s face. Tang Soso’s part was over, but the Tang Clan still had things left to do.

“I envy you. If it were up to our hearts, we’d head to Sichuan this instant.”

“Rushing doesn’t make everything better.”

“Yes, you mean we should do what must be done properly. We understand.”

Having lost Tang Gunak, the Tang Clan would from now on have to face countless watchful eyes – would a Tang Clan without the Poison King truly be the same as before? To prove that the Sichuan Tang Clan still stood firm, they could not pull out now.

“Travel safely. Well… I doubt there’s any place left under heaven with the guts to pick a fight with Hwasan now.”

“It would be nice if someone did.”

“…”

Tang Pae’s expression grew complicated. But someone with an even more complicated look on his face approached them.

“Ugh, what is this! A mummy? A jiangshi?”

It was Namgung Dowi, wrapped head to toe in bandages. To Chung Myung, who shuddered and backed away, Namgung Dowi spoke.

“Dojang.”

“Eeeeek! The jiangshi talks!”

Namgung Dowi smacked his lips bitterly. Watching from the side, Baek Cheon laughed faintly and spoke.

“There will be much to do.”

“……Yes.”

“Just as it’s natural for us to be in Shaanxi, isn’t it natural for Namgung to be in Anhui? Young Lord, no Lord Namgung.”

Namgung Dowi silently nodded.

Anhui had been left unattended for far too long. Anhui was the land where Namgung Clan had been living for generations, and where they must continue to live. They couldn’t leave Anhui, which has suffered great damage, as it was.

“Dojang……”

Namgung Dowi called to Chung Myung, his voice trembling slightly. Chung Myung shuddered.

“Ah, don’t say sentimental crap when you look like that! My fist is about to fly!”

“…”

“And for heaven’s sake, take care of yourself. I’ve met plenty of lunatics in my life, but none as reckless as you.”

Judging by his antics alone, Namgung Dowi was the sort of a man who’d make even someone said to have muscles packed up into their brain yield. Not that it was all that strange. Half the blood running in Namgung Dowi’s veins belonged to the Paeng Family.

“At this rate, you won’t die a natural death. You can hold up now because you’re young. Just wait till you’re older – every joint in your body will ache. Even now, whenever it rains, my joints hurt, my joints.”

“…You’re the youngest one here, you punk.”

“Just listening to you, you sound like an eighty-year-old.”

“Good grief. And the nagging on top of it – smells like an old fogey.”

“You little punks?”

When fire shot from Chung Myung’s eyes, the Five Swords, who had each been chiming in, hastily looked away.

“Thank you for your concern, Dojang.”

But the very person in question, Namgung Dowi, smiled faintly. The mix of a forced smile and a miserable expression made his usually handsome face look rather ridiculous.

“Please don’t worry too much. If a problem arises, I’ll request help from Shaanxi at once.”

“Don’t.”

“If trouble comes up in Shaanxi as well, let me know. I’ll rush over anytime.”

“Don’t come! You’re the biggest problem. Ever since I got to know you, not a single thing has gone right.”

“…Come to think of it.”

“It does sound like a plain truth.”

Whispers rose around them. A faint pained look flickered across Namgung Dowi’s face.

After that, he exchanged greetings with each of the Five Swords one by one before finally turning to leave.

“Phew. Can we go now?”

No, they couldn’t.

Because before they could even take a proper step, someone came charging from afar with a terrifying momentum.

“…Yeah, Dongryong is coming.”

“It’s Geumryong.”

“But at this point, don’t you want to see Eunryong at least once, too? Didn’t he come along?”

“….You bastards.”

Jin Geumryong dashed straight up to Baek Cheon and came to a light stop right before him. He couldn’t quite hide the sound of his ragged breathing, though.

And yet, as if he weren’t the least bit tired, he wore a confident (in Chung Myung’s words, infuriating) expression and stared straight at Baek Cheon.

Baek Cheon spoke curtly.

“What?”

“…”

“…”

An unbearably awkward air settled between the two. Baek Cheon’s lips quivered as if he might spit something out – or not.

“Sasuk.”

“I know!”

Baek Cheon, growling as if he might bite off Yoon Jong’s finger poking him in the back, let out three successive sighs and then, as if having made up his mind, nodded.

“Well……”

“Be careful on your way back.”

“…Huh?”

“It will take us a little longer. I’m entrusting Shaanxi to you.”

Baek Cheon could only wear a vacant look, unable to say a word. The disciples of Hwasan watching all whispered, one after another.

“He lost.”

“Different caliber.”

“They say no younger brother equals his elder brother – turns out the old saying wasn’t wrong.”

“Ugh. Pathetic, just pathetic.”

“Sh-Shut up.”

Baek Cheon glared back with eyes like an axe blade, but everyone only returned indifferent looks.

“Th… U-Um.”

Creaking like a broken wooden puppet, Baek Cheon finally managed to squeeze out a single line.

“Th-Th…”

“Th…?”

“Thank you… Hyeong.”

The last part was barely audible. But Jin Geumryong chuckled faintly, as if that was enough.

No more words were exchanged about grudges or debts. It seemed that this was sufficient.

“Is it all right if I go without seeing Father?”

“Eeeek!”

“….All right.”

No, this was the limit for now.

“Stop by Jongnam as well. Eunryong wants to see you.”

“….Really?”

“Yeah. Only – on the condition that you see us separately.”

Baek Cheon nodded as if that made perfect sense. The three of them meeting together was clearly out of the question.

After that, countless people came to visit Hwasan. Each exchange was filled with tears, farewells, talks of the future, and lingering regrets…

“Khaaaaaaak! We’ll be up all night at this rate! Are we not leaving yet?”

“…What a heartless bastard.”

Only after Chung Myung finally threw a fit did Hwasan’s disciples sluggishly heft their bundles. By then, a great many had come to see them off.

“Travel safely.”

“Let’s meet again!”

“You’ve truly worked hard.”

Unpolished, but warm words poured in from all sides. Everyone bit down on their lips.

“Wow. Your popularity is tremendous.”

“…Why are you stuck to us?”

“Haha. Where the needle goes, the thread follows, doesn’t it? Wherever Dojang goes is where I go.”

“What are you babbling about, you bandit bastard?”

“…There’s a rumor Jongli Gok will be the Alliance Leader – will a bandit even be allowed to breathe then? Please, spare me.”

Chung Myung shook his head as if he was fed up. Well, if he were Jongli Gok, he’d wring this bandit out like laundry first.

“See? You should’ve stopped fooling around.”

“Damn it. How was I supposed to know it would come to this!”

“And that’s why you live the way you do. Tsk, tsk.”

After laughing heartily at Im Sobyeong, Chung Myung turned his head a little. The reddish earth came into view. It was a place where so much had been buried and lost. He couldn’t claim, even as a pleasantry, that he’d grown attached to it.

And yet, Chung Myung’s gaze was filled with a multitude of emotions.

After staring at that land for a long while, Chung Myung finally turned his eyes. Before he knew it, all the disciples of Hwasan were looking at him. Chung Myung, as if trying to discern each and every emotion in these gazes, lifted the corner of his lips in a faint smile.

What’s lost will not return. Regret will never truly fade.

But that’s fine. To carry all of it and move forward – that, in the end, is what it means to live.

‘That’s enough.’

It isn’t perfect, but at times that will be enough. Looking at everyone, Chung Myung’s expression grew more serious.

A great vigor tinged his voice.

“All right, let’s go back! To Shaanxi.”

“Yeah!”

With a powerful step, Chung Myung started walking.

The place they had left, the place they must always return to, their land.

Towards Hwasan.

The bitterness of the previous chapter still lingers in my memories, though having this one felt like drinking fresh, pure water. Still, I can’t feel at ease with what happened.

Between the Beggar Leader and the Bandit Leader, they should have a contest to see who’s more devoted to Chung Myung.

But does that mean Im Sobyeong is going to live with Chung Myung? I’d really like to see more recognition for these two.

Thank you for the chapter, dear Ellie — let’s celebrate Chung Myung’s birthday with good wine!

Honestly, I no longer feel the joy of reading the chapters like I used to, this feeling of always seeing Chung Myung being used only when it suits him and the sect leader (who does nothing but be a decent human being) making important decisions as if he knew what he was doing or as if he had done everything has been bothering me…

But wasn’t that how it was from the very beginning? Hyun-jong always knew he wasn’t worthy of the leadership position, but Chun-myung gave it to him and recognized him for not abandoning Huashan during difficult times. So all the important decisions were Hyun-jong’s, and Chun-myung respects his decisions and doesn’t object to them.Chun Myung, of course, solves all the problems, but that’s natural, only he can do it, and everyone else is trying to help him.

These last few chapters have been a real disappointment for me. I really don’t like the direction the novel is taking, it feels like Biga is just trying to stretch the story longer than necessary.

The whole alliance plot makes no sense anymore. The Heavenly Friends Alliance wasn’t even formed to defeat JIS, so why is no one asking CM what he wants to do now?CM literally said over 1 300 chapters ago that the Heavenly Demon would return, and that he was forming the alliance so they could support each other during the coming war. So why are they acting like everything is already over?

It feels like everything is being hastily resolved just to rush into a new arc.And the tone lately has been completely off. The war just ended, hundreds of people died, and yet everyone’s joking around like nothing happened-while the ground is still soaked with blood. It completely ruins the atmosphere for me.

And don’t even get me started on Hyun Jong. That coward just hid in his tent because he was afraid of CM. He knows he did something wrong -that’s the only reason I can think of for why he’d run away like that.

It’s beyond frustrating for me how no one takes CM seriously, even after everything he’s done. He’s easily the most hardworking character in the entire series, yet they never acknowledge him. They even have the nerve to compare him to a greedy squirrel. They just keep using him like a guard dog,the same way they did during the war with the Demonic Cult.

Honestly, I just hope Biga takes a long break after this arc ends to really think about where he wants to take the story and what he wants it to become.

Thank you so much for translating this chapter ❤️ I hope you have an amazing weekend!

can’t argue with facts and im definitely not going to glaze biga only bcs im translating this novel.
the tone is certainly off. the chapter where zhuge jain was resurrected – was definitely the tone that i was expecting after such a devastating war. but the switch flipped after that chapter was revised.
…and hyun jong. i feel like im already tired of ranting about him and how other characters deal with what he has done.
chung myung under appreciation and a lack of outward respect has been my complaint for a long time.

you’re welcome! and i hope going forward we will see biga go back to his peak writing again

Why do you think Chun-myung is disrespected and underestimated? Everyone knows how incredible he is. And on the contrary, everyone cares about him and tries to help. Yes, maybe they’re failing and making things worse. But the main thing is that they, don’t treat him like an all-powerful machine that must be obeyed without question. On the contrary, they try to stand on an equal footing with him and help. Thus they try to shoulder his burden at least a little and make their own decisions. And when Chun-myung grumbles, he’s not serious and doesn’t really mind. I don’t mean anything bad, I just honestly don’t understand.

They’re just recovering from the war, they don’t act like it’s all over, just a lull.
Everyone seems tired of the heavy atmosphere, that’s why they joke. More time has passed in the novel, everyone has come to their senses a bit, so how much longer can they be sad? Everyone is tired of it, plus there’s a defensive mental reaction, a desire to concentrate on something cheerful instead of sadness. Well, everyone experiences hardships differently, some find it easier to distract themselves.
Hyun Chun isn’t afraid of Chun Myung, he just doesn’t want to run into his grumbling. If Chun Myung were serious, no one would treat him like that. That’s the humor of this novella, that Chun Myung is fooling around and being capricious, and everyone is trying to cope with him at these moments. The point is that at such moments, Chun Myung doesn’t mind what’s happening, because when he minds, he’s serious, and at such moments, he just wants to grumble. That’s the humor in these situations, because they’re comedic and not serious. And I don’t understand why you think anyone doesn’t recognize him. Everyone has recognized him from the very beginning. But Chun Myung never wanted to be the leader and decide anything for the entire sect. He always wanted to be more of a force within the sect, helping solve problems. But when it came to making decisions, he preferred to leave it to the leader. And again, he never opposed his decisions, he just liked to grumble, which is why everyone treats it with humor, because Chun Myung himself is just messing around, and everyone understands that.

“But at this point, don’t you want to see Eunryong at least once, too?”
YES!!!!!!!! I do!!!!! It’s what I desire the most in the world!!! Stop hiding him Biga!!!

Omg more Eunryong mentions. What is it? What will happen if the three dragons, sorry, the three brothers meet at the same time and place? And Dongryong is going to go meet him? Can I come along? Can I? Please!?

Geumryong really won this one. But it is amazing that Dongryong managed to say “thank you”. Wow.

Congrats to Sobyeong, you’re the only one not from Hwasan that managed to stay stuck to CM. I am impressed by such strong will.

I loved all of the moments we saw with Dowi, Pae, Sobaek, and Maeng So. These people are great.
It’s nice that we’re going back to Hwasan and I hope we can focus on the sect more for some time, but I also hope we won’t lose contact with them for too long.
Hopefully for other reasons than the Central Plain being in danger again.
I mean, I know it will happen again, I just hope that others, less bad things happen first. Maybe even good things! Wouldn’t it be nice.

    Thanks for the translation!

This chapter has all the funny and warmth but it feels hollow. Oh well.

BTW Ellie, I couldn’t reply to your comment on the hiatus post so responding here:

I’d said cracks started showing in Hainan arc, but that doesn’t mean I dislike it.

i loved the Haenam chase arc too! It was so emotional and intense and full of adrenaline. But it had a big issue – CM sacrificed himself TWICE. That was the indication Biga started fumbling – there is no narrative benefit to repeating the same plot point and emotions in the same arc. It was since that point that I felt story went downhill

I wish Hyun Joong would stop acting so cute, he talks endlessly about righteousness and the Tao and all this stuff and it’s getting really annoying.

I didn’t want to like this chapter because I’m still petty about HJ but I gotta confess that mummy!Dowi made me laugh 😅 So, I’ve decided to focus on the positive:

CM acknowledging Dowi’s bravery was something I didn’t know I needed but I’m glad I got ❤️ I bet that for the boys (Pae and Dowi) CM’s departing feels like losing their safety net…

The Jin Brothers plot thickens!! Why can’t the three of them be together at the same time? Why did Eunryong stay in Jongnam? I’m glad BC finally managed to say thank you!

Im Sobyeong and CM’s exchanges never disappoint 😆 That bandit is truly loyal to CM for sure… How old is he supposed to be again? 17? They’re all so young…

Thanks for the chapter Ellie! 🎉

Okay, so I started rereading the novel again and I’m currently at the tournament arc (since I totally forgot which chapter I dropped it at, lol). But there’s one thing I really want to know, so please spoil it for me, is that bald-headed bastard, Abbot, still alive? Because I really hope he’s not, but you know how villains are, they’re always too damn hard to kill. So yeah, tell me what happened to him!

BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY OUR 100 YEARS OLD BABY CHUNG MYUNG❤️

Well, it’s like karma, isn’t it? A 100 years ago, Chung Myung watched the person closest to him die… and now, a 100 years later, the Abbot is sitting in the very same place Chung Myung once did. Honestly, I thought his dantian would be destroyed or maybe he’d lose an arm or a leg, but I guess this punishment fits too. A selfish bastard like him deserves it. Still, I really hope he steps down as Abbot, because I honestly don’t see any qualifications left in him to hold that position anymore.

Btw thank you for telling me all of this!❤️

Happy birthday my baby Chung Myung! ❤

It seems like all the readers are starting to realize the extent of the mess that is going on here. I have always hated the people with Chung Myung. They are just ungrateful and exploitative, nothing more. Whether it was Mount Hua in the past or now, everyone is using Chung Myung as a tool and they do not care about his feelings at all. It is clear that he is the one who created the alliance with tears and blood. Yet, to whom is he handed over? To the people who had a hand in my child’s trauma, this is infuriating, and yet they are trying to stop my child from even complaining. This is just nonsense. Now, in my opinion, at least the only people who appreciate Chung Myung are the ones who were clinging to him, like Seol Soo Baek, Maeng Soo, Im Soopyung, Lee Sungbaek, Namgoong Dowi, Tang Bae, and Hong Dae Kwang. In fact, it can be said that Jang Il Soo, Ho Ja Myung, and even the Satanic Sect themselves are valuing Chung Myung over the bastards from Mount Hua who take my child for granted. They only need him when they cause trouble, and in the end, he has to clean up their problems and take all the burden on himself, as he doesn’t even have time to breathe or heal himself physically and mentally.

I’m writing through a translator, so I might not be able to express some of my thoughts. But I can’t agree with you. Firstly, yes, he created an alliance. Maybe it’s bad that he wasn’t consulted, but if Chun Myung had really been against it, he wouldn’t have been fooling around and acting up, but rather being serious. It doesn’t irritate them, they just understand that Chun Myung isn’t going to have a serious conversation, just wants to come and grumble, but still agree. In any case, everyone respects his opinion when something is truly important to him. Apparently, this alliance was only important during the war. Secondly, Chun Myung acts of his own free will, and no one is using him. If he were being used, they would be forcing him to do something he doesn’t want, despite the risk to himself. Thirdly, everyone worries about him and wants to support him and not put him at risk, but not everyone can do it and know exactly what to do! You may not have encountered this in life, but people who know that a loved one is feeling bad and even if they want to do something don’t always know exactly what needs to be done. Very often, people get confused and simply worry without doing anything. Plus, Chun Myung always drew a line between himself and the children, never letting them know what was going on in his soul or get close to him in difficult moments, so it was difficult for them to do anything, but now everything seems to be fine, and there is no need to rush, maybe they will raise the topic of his condition later.Well, and the last thing.Literally the entire novel, the guys, and everyone else in general, are trying to lift the burden off Cheon Myung’s shoulders, trying as hard as they can, to the limit of their abilities. Can’t you see that? Yes, they may not succeed and they don’t always know what to do, they don’t always understand him right away, but they never took him for granted. They value him very much. Do you think if they didn’t care about him and just wanted to use him, they would even care or pay attention to him? Would they be willing to sacrifice themselves?
      Thanks for translating the chapter.

It’s not that I didn’t see what was happening, but most of the time they say he’s a human and he shouldn’t bear the burden himself, but they always forget, and by the time they remember he’s a human, he’s on the verge of death. Then they rush in to try to save him, and then it happens again, and every time they forget he’s a human. In addition, they often make the decisions, which Chung-myung rejects because he realizes the danger, like Arc Haenam. However, he has to agree in the end because he knows they’ll both end up dying. I loved their funny interactions in the beginning, and yet for Biga to try to create comedy with Chung-myung again, despite all the tragic events that have happened, is unbearable. In the end, some of the alliance kids, Baek Chun, and Joo Gul are the ones who give him importance. As for Yoo E-seol, Tang So-so, and specifically the idiot Yoon Jung, I will never forget what he did. Even if Chung-myung forgets (or Biga forgets), it doesn’t matter. Chung-myung has always had Stockholm Syndrome tendencies, believing that being thrown into the front lines When he was still the Sword Saint, it was the way Chung Moon loved him.

I am still salty over how clueless Mount Hua was about Chung Myung’s condition was from before. Even if he is good at hiding things, enough people found out about it (Yoon Jong, Tang Soso, and anyone else?). They could have gathered other people to discuss what to do to help, or been persistent about it, but no. I’ve only seen them mad at him about seeming disinterested about Baek Cheon’s previous situation (which I can say is valid). Yet, when confirmed something was wrong with him as well, I saw no other efforts (except for scenes helping during the war which is obvious) to push to solve it.

yoon jong has a mouth to say a few sentences about chung myung’s condition to other people. they are martial artists, stress is not an excuse here.

so by this logic, they can be stressed and concerned about baek cheon, to the point of going to search for him during a said war, wasting time ans getting people killed, but can’t share information and concerns about chung myung??! naaaah…

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It was disgusting that they didn’t even give Chung Myung time to be depressed and blamed him for what happened to Baek Chun. Even though Chung Myung respected Sasuk’s choices and didn’t want to pressure him, everyone kept blaming Chung Myung just because he didn’t find a solution. Not to mention that he didn’t ask Baek Chun to save his life after they abandoned him and he almost died because of them. He’s always sacrificing himself like breathing all the time. Yet just because of an accident that happened to Baek Chun, they still bother him. Knowing that they always say he’s human, they seem to have completely forgotten about that. Of course, Joo Gul was the only one who, even though he didn’t notice my child’s mental and physical state, didn’t throw around nonsense like Yoo E-Seul, ungrateful Yoon Jung, and stupid Tang So Soo, who clearly bothered my child the moment he was stuck in a dirty corner having nightmares and vomiting blood. They didn’t even give him time to be alone. What made it worse was… It’s ridiculous. The evil tyrant’s alliance himself knew about Chung Myung’s physical condition, while the alliance my child founded? Maybe they knew or pretended not to know.

They had a hard time understanding Chun-myung. As I already wrote, he himself didn’t let them. He didn’t want to explain anything to them, didn’t want to talk. And what could they do? No matter what they told him, Chun-myung wouldn’t listen to them. Besides, everyone was under a lot of stress. They were all, you could say, in a nightmare and doing stupid things. They might have been trying to get him to talk, and they weren’t angry that he hadn’t resolved the issue with Baek Chun, but that he had shut them out and didn’t want to share what was happening to him or explain his actions, and was always closing himself off from them. They simply didn’t know what to do and were nervous.

What could they do? Even if they had gathered and discussed everything, Chun Myung wouldn’t have listened to them. Besides, they didn’t really have time for it. They were angry more because Chun Myung didn’t explain anything to them, and they simply didn’t understand the reasons for his actions, and he didn’t give them the opportunity to find out.

You replied to me in one of your replies so I’ll make it short. Chung Myung was trying to take time for himself so the Mt. Hwa kids didn’t go to him but are you going to explain Yoon Jung’s actions to me? He hasn’t apologized at all so far and that’s what bothers me. Same thing with Yoo Eseul. They obviously thought he had a solution even though he said he’s not a god and can’t do everything but Yoon Jung kept pressuring him like it was wrong for him to answer like that. I know his actions were out of concern for Baek Chun but that doesn’t explain why he said hurtful words to Chung Myung.
