Hello, this is Biga.
It’s been a very long time since I last greeted you.
While preparing Part 3, I intended to take a period of rest to recover my health, which had worsened during serialization. However, my condition turned out to be worse than I anticipated, and as a result, I was unable to return to you for longer than expected. I feel deeply sorry for making the readers who love ROTMHS wait for so long.
Only after I had somewhat regained my strength did I realize that, in my current state, it would be difficult to work on the manuscript smoothly. Various issues arose from the long serialization, but above all, the biggest problem was that I could no longer quite recapture the sense I had when I was enjoying writing ROTMHS the most. I believe this may be due to the prolonged serialization within an increasingly heavy tone and atmosphere.
In an effort to resolve this issue, I revisited and retraced past episodes multiple times, but I came to the conclusion that this alone had its limits. So, I attempted a kind of ‘rehabilitation’ by writing content set in an earlier point in time – unpublished material from the past – where I could revive the atmosphere from when I most enjoyed writing this story.
However, the process seemed like it could drag on, and I felt I was making readers wait far too long. After much deliberation, I decided to serialize the pieces I wrote as part of this ‘rehabilitation.’ Though the writing may be lacking in some ways, I couldn’t help but agree with those who said there would certainly be readers who would want to experience the atmosphere of that period again.
I hope you can understand that all of this is my own effort toward bringing ROTMHS to a proper and satisfying conclusion.
At the same time, I am well aware that this special episode should not delay the return of the main story. Therefore, this special spinoff will only be a short serialization, and regardless of it, Part 3 of ROTMHS is scheduled to resume around the end of May.
I will do my best to write something that can be read in a lighter and more comfortable atmosphere. I kindly ask for your understanding and patience as you watch over this process.
Thank you.
